This is James “Siyuan” Guo. I am an incoming PhD student in Applied Probability and Statistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I recently completed an M.A. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University.
Previously, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for an introductory computing class (AS.250.205 Introduction to Computing), an introductory math class (AS.110.109 Calculus II), and as the head PILOT (peer-led-team learning) leader for an introductory ODEs class (AS.110.302 Differential Equations and Applications).
Previously, I volunteered for the International Students at Hopkins (ISAH) organization and Maryland Science Olympiad (MSO), and I helped organize the Johns Hopkins Math Tournament (JHMT) for high school and middle school students.
